Some tricky questions about Lloyds

Hi, I'm new to this so excuse my lack of knowledge!

I'm claiming back £585.00 worth of charges from Lloyds TSB.

I sent a letter on the 15th May (with recorded delivery proof) yet my PC crashed a few days ago and it was one of the files I lost. Will the recorded delivery receipt be enough if it goes to court?

Also, I had a letter back today saying that they're not in a position to respond fully to my complaint and that I am welcome to go to the Ombudsman. I'm not happy with this...how long should I tell them I'm giving them before filing court papers?

And on their reply, they used an Andover address whereas I've been using 125 Colmore Row....which one should I sent my reply to their letter to?

Thanks!

I got the letter about going to the Ombudsman over the weekend. So I called them yesterday and they gave me a ref number and I sent the form etc off today. They told me that I didn't need to respond to the bank; they would look into it.
Why not go to the Ombudsman first and then to court if you're still not happy?
PS I'm using the Andover address for everything now (have some other complaints outside of this)

What stage are you at? If you are requesting statements go to the Information Commissioner <-link here
you will get your statements in about a week ;)

If you are further on than this, take it to the Financial Ombudsman <- link here

Every complaint the FO office get about a bank will cost the bank £400 :) the more people that complain the more likely the banks will stop playing their silly games and just pay us what is due!
