some (expletive deletive) fantacist has messed up my house buy

i am not a happy bunny rabbit,

im up here in sun kissed glasgow and a ftb, so we have the offers over system. I went it view a house priced at offers over £95K, probably a fair bit underpriced but the area is relatively dodgy, not a problem for me as i have plenty of heavy duty mates and aint exactly a short !!!! myself.

Anyway i put a bid in of £141K on the closeing date on the assumption that while it was the most i was prepaired to pay and while a lot of others were interested it was a good price and hey if i didnt get it thems the breaks.

So i got outbid by 1 of the 9 other people so eight put in offers lower than mine, many substantialy lower. The highest bid was £180K, way out of my league and frankly to much for the area as you could move somewhere really nice for that.

The i figured fair play and was genuinely happy for the lovely couple who had been there for 25 years and deserved it, someone else had more cash and probably less scene than me.

A week or so later i get a call from the solicitor telling me the buyers are pulling out cause the mortgage company are giving them problems, they are still messing the owners about but would i still be interested.

Now i really want happy about this, not only had i lost a house where i was in an excellent position, very flexable about entry date and finace in place but these folks had screwed over a nice couple who though they were going to get a huge wad more than 9 other people were prepaired to pay.

Now i havent heard back from my solicitor after they let the EA know my offer was still in place though i cant see them not trying to get more, even if they do come back odds are it will be after next months interest rate hike so even if i do get it i will have a higher rate :< , what a pillock.

Surprised you said your offer was still standing knowing you are the 2nd highest and a lot of other people but lower than you; I would have lowered it and given them a fixed time period to accept.
