Automatic disassociation after 6 years?

I have lived on my own at my current address for more than 6 years and my only financial associations have been those established at previous addresses.

Would I need to file a notice of disassociation for the financial associates I had at my previous addresses, or would these have automatically disappeared after 6 years? I'd rather avoid the hassle of filling in forms if I don't have to

In theory the associations stay in indefinitely. In practice they may have gone automatically if its more than 6 years since a joint account was closed and you have moved house more than 6years ago.

Probably best to check your reports to see with each agency and then only file for any agency where they do appear (if any).

If you are referring to a financial association with someone else then you can apply to be disassociated. I don't think there would be much involved.

My OH is on one of my files and that was last confirmed 8 years ago.

Others don't show it.

You need to check all 3 CRAs and then ask the ones that show it to remove it.
