PPI letter from NatWest - very old loan

Just received a letter from NatWest about two loans I had many years ago (one starting in 2000 and one in 2005) and information on how to claim if I think I was mis-sold PPI. I honestly don't remember if I had PPI on these loans or not.
Have they written to me as someone who had PPI and they think has a possible claim or are they writing to everyone who ever had a loan from them?

I suspect they are probably writing to everyone who's ever had PPI with them, they wouldn't waste their time or yours writing to you if you hadn't had a policy. The purpose of it is to get the whole thing over with and start the clock running for a three year time bar.0 -
Seeing as I don't even remember having PPI is there any point me making a claim? Not sure how I can claim I was mis-sold it if I don't remember any of the details or how much I'd even be claiming for.0

That's what I thought about mine Aryndeneth, ended up with around £18K. Easy as pie it was thanks to MSE. :money:0

Suppose there's nothing to lose? Worst case scenario they say I'm not entitled to anything. As I didn't think I was in the first place I won't be any worse off for trying.0

I think you've answered your own question in your previous post.
If you have no idea how the product was sold then you can't really claim it was Mis-sold. If, however, you have reason for complaint then by all means make one.0
