@ OP - also try using tagul.com. You can load a picture with the shape and colours you want (I've saded a jpeg off the internet) and it will mimic the shape of the words or picture and also pick up the colours.

So if you had a picture of a daisy or happy 4th birthday in blue, it will put the words in the shape of the daisy or happy 4th birthday in the different shades of blue in the picture.

    I think it's a !!!!ly idea.

My pennyworth - I wouldnt get this sort of thing for a man. Maybe as a joint, couple anniversary present, but in my eyes it's very much female taste.

I think these sorts are very much like marmite. I personally can't stand them and think they are super duper tacky!!!

    I really like them.

I would like them for bathroom/ensuite/kids bedroom, maybe not living rm.
  • My boyfriend wouldn't appreciate this type of gift but I would, however I think the prices of some are ridiculous.

I did however get a colleague one from NOTHS that said 'Thank You' and listed some things we were thankful to her for and it went down really well with her and everyone that put into the collection.

I also am a Scrabble addict and loved that there were official Scrabble pictures and so i had the idea to DIY one for my close friend's wedding. I put lots of time and effort into it and I am certainly no craft lover so it was a big deal to me.

On the day of the wedding, I showed a pic of it to another friend who I had never discussed my gift with and she had bought one of the official pics and paid an absolute fortune for it - and she was only invited to evening do so I felt like my present was cheap tat :(. Neither Scrabble pic was ever mentioned and I felt unbelievably sad that my efforts had not been appreciated and I often wonder which went on their wall ;).

(However, I also made a photobook from the wedding day though so that went down brilliantly and I think overshadowed the pic).

What a shame - we got given a homemade scrabble pic for our wedding and I loved it. Texted my appreciation as soon as we opened it and thanked them in writing a few weeks later. It's now on our hall wall.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I kind of like it but don't think my bf would want one

So I'm currently trying to rack my brains to think of what to get him

That said two of the most romantic gifts I've been given were handmade, one was a picture bf did for me another was a handmade heart shaped box with crisps in! (To put that in context I've always said I don't like chocolates and much prefer crisps!)

Personally I think theyre kinda tacky. Like the wooden letters you get spelling out 'bathe' or 'smile'.

    :D

I have 'L-O-V-E' in the living room and 'E-A-T' in the kitchen. Both from NEXT and I love them.

I used to have 'Fabulous' in the bedroom but that went out with the latest makeover

I have a friend who had the LOVE one as separate letters, every time we went round her house it would end up as VOLE :D

I like the pictures, but I wouldn't pay that for a wordle.
