in Credit cards
I have a £1650 debt with HMRC that I have been paying off at £75 per month and would like to pay it off with a credit card that has 15 months interest free on purchases and balance transfers , however I have read some of the forums and around the net and need to find out if I pay it off now:
Will it be classed as a purchase or a cash advance and what other costs will I incurr ?
Thank you in advance

Can't say for certain about the cash advance, but if I remember rightly HMRC do charge about 1.5% or so for paying by credit card.0

I would say it's classed as a purchase, as it could be for a fine or service the CC company won't know.0

Why not just ask the card company?0

I paid this way last year. It went through as a purchase. There was a small surcharge applied by HMRC - around 1.5%, as noted above.0
