Property Repair Grants for Pensioner

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a grant to help pensioners make vital repairs to their own homes?
My mum lives in a timber framed house and the front window frames are letting in water. She is scared that the damp will eventually effect the structure of the house.
I wondered if there was anyone she could apply to to get replacement windows?
She is on benefits.

Not a definitive reply, but grants have tended to be pushed aside by the Green Deal. This works on the basis of a loan and hence ability to re-pay.

There is funding/grants available towards insulation - speak with your local authority to find if this is applicable.

My thought is most items can be repaired. Is it possible to re-seal the windows and avoid the cost and requirement for replacements?

My friend had some windows replaced and a flat roof repaired by a local "Staying Put" group. They organised all the grants and the workmen.
