Another Excel question sorting colums

I have a sheet with headings every 3 colums and information in the 3 colums.

so A1 has a heading and colums A B and C have related data.

D1 has heading D E and F have data

and so on

Is it possible to sort these in groups left to right or would I have to give each colum a heading?

You should to give a heading to each column you wish to sort, but it is possible not to, as long as you remember the column letter that you want to sort on.
Also, pet hate of mine... Why have you left row 1 and column A blank? That means sorting and filtering become more cumbersome to do. If it's to do with printing, the. Adjust the settings when you print, but please, start spreadsheets at A1, not B2.
Actually, I'm not sure a sort will work on row 2 if there are no headings...
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

To make the borders of the blocks more visible to hopefully make explaing easier. I had started A1 but inserted row and colum for clearer visibility.

I could add headings to other colums so A-A1-A2-D-D1-D2-C would make sorting easire but more work on sheet which I hoped to avoid if I can

Ok, well if you move it back to A1, you should be able to sort. Select the complete sheet, go to sort and it should list the columns by letter if there is no title in the column.

but unless I fill the empty cells A-A1-A2-D-D1-D2-C
then it would just sort A-E and the other 10 colums would go to the end.

Ok, I think you're going to have to explain what way you want it sorted, also what is the link between the data in the first column with that in the second and third, and why can't you give each one a title?
