Met parking services PCN

Hi,

Received PCN last week as RK who is my employer named me under the POFA umbrella.

Overstayed McDonald's 90 minutes by just over 20 mins but spent nearly £15 on coffee and lunch with colleague.

Ignored PCN in past but wasn't named so just wanted to know if majority agree just to ignore or go through appeal to PPC then via POPLA. Any different rules/issues as they have my name?

Look forward to any replies/advice.

Thanks.

Local McDonalds Managers cancel these all the time. You will see several successes listed & linked to read, in post #2 of the Successful Complaints sticky thread, with MET tickets just like yours. Don't try a National McD's contact, go for the local Manager and be polite but insistent that you know they can cancel such drivel. You could have it quashed by tomorrow and then won't have to go through the appeals process (which you would win at with our help).

You won't be paying but don't ignore it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the advice from Coupon-mad and Redx !

I finally visited the McDONALDS today and talked with the assistant manager who has agreed to get MET to cancel this PCN ! ;-)

As Coupon-mad suggests just be polite and insistent with your receipts and hopefully it should work! In parallel I sent a soft appeal on GPEOL grounds to the PPC but it won't go any further as MCD's will get it cancelled!! SPREAD THE WORD & GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO GETS THESE PUNITIVE PCN'S !!! Cheers Groundhogday0202 ta ta ;-)

Try to get it in writing from McD. If you haven't had it in writing, try emailing the Asst Manager with the details of your discussion and ask him to confirm that his recollection is the same as yours. Make it easy for him to deal with it quickly.

Will come in useful if MET play sill beggars later - PPCs do ignore instructions from their principal from time to time.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

OK thanks, I have his name and he took a photo of the PCN and insisted he emails MET and they cancel when they tell them to but I will follow your advice - cheers.
