JSA query

How often do you have to go to the Jobcentre to sign on for JSA? I know there has been talk of making people go regularly, but just wondered if this has been brought in yet.
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

  • usually its once a fortnight,
then its paid three days later

Yes - you sign on once a fortnight. That day is dictated by the last 3 digits of your NI number. However you could be required to attend more often than that. Often depends on a claimant's period of receiving JSA, individual offices' practices and individual advisers' predelictions.

    All the best
  • I go once a fortnight, but my adviser told me they are going to start making some people come in every day, luckily she told me that wont apply to me at the moment, I dont mind going in everyday as its only down the road from me, can see it being a problem for people who have to pay to travel to their job center. One of my friends has to sign on weekly.
