This is welcome news, but too late for me. I'm binning my TalkTalk contract when it's up for renewal in March, largely in part due to the poor internet speed which struggles in my area to reach 2.5mb. Recently bought a MiFi which knocks out 12-14mb with excellent coverage from the mast just half a mile from where I live. Back to topic though, it is a huge shame they didn't do this a long time ago and hopefully the other providers will offer the same.
Now the next move is for BT to stop producing that waste of paper known as the residential telephone directory. What an utterly pointless waste of paper and print in this day and age. I wonder if they did stop printing it whether anyone would actually be upset about it? I doubt it. They could probably afford to drop their line rental charges if they stopped printing that garbage.0 -
Great -TalkTalk seem to get better and better for me.
Not perfect but still very happy with them.0 -

According To BT Using Anonymous Call Rejection can cause you lots of problems.
" Many public services such as the police force, the DSS, hospitals, fire brigades and public utilities will not be able to contact customers who use Anonymous Call Rejection.
This is due to the configuration of their private switchboards. This problem will also affect many UK businesses. We're trying to find a solution for these problems."

From article:
" If you don't want to receive marketing calls, you can join the free Telephone Preference Service register."
Except that the scam firms totally ignore the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and trying to get the TPS to take action is next to impossible. Both the TPS and the regulator try to pass you from one to the other if you complain about phone calls from unwanted sources.
The TPS only stops the good companies who obey the law of the land.

TalkTalk seem to get better and better for me.Talk Talk services aren't worth paying for.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Is it not half full of adverts these days? They probably make a profit printing it so stopping it might lead to other fees going up.0 -
Does this extend to TalkTalk's AOL customers?0

I agree with you 100%...I constantly get 17-20mb downloads and I find I have no problems with them at all, my average bill is around £23 per month which is brilliant as I download substantial amounts of data...:D0
