Cooker hood - Bulb gone but rest of unit okay?

Hi Guys,
Quick question to see if anyone can shed any light on a stiuation with my cooker hood.
As stated in the title the bulb blew the other day - I have replaced the bulb withone I know to be working and yet the light still does not come on. The extraction part of the cooker hood is still working fine - I just can't get the light to come on even when I've replaced the bulb.
Any suggestions appreciated as I'd love to be able to fix it if possible rather than replacing the whole damn hood!

If your sure the replacement bulb is ok could be faulty/ poor contacts in the light socket . .or . . faulty light switch?
You can continue to use the hood tho' . . . maybe just a bit dark.
You shouldn't have to change it, (it's just the light) should be an easy thing to sort out.

Hahaha - I hadn't even realised my shedding light on the situation pun! I know I can continue to use the hood but with the way the kitchen is set up I really miss the light above the cooker and was hoping someone could tell me what the cause might be without me having to replace the hood or pay someone to tell me what the issue is... Ah well!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0
