Tired of waiting

I paid PPI for many years on my mortgage. Initially my complaint was turned down. I subsequently found more information and case was reopened in May 2013. I have been waiting for a decision since then. I phone from time to time and am told they (Barclays) are waiting to hear from Aviva (policy was with London and Edinburgh). I have been told that there is no time scale for the decision. Do I have a case to take to the Ombudsman or should I just wait it out?

If you take it to FOS, you'll probably have to wait even longer. Could you contact Aviva yourself, see what's causing the delay?

Most MPPI complaints are rejected. The FOS rejects most of them as well.

I have been told that there is no time scale for the decision. Do I have a case to take to the Ombudsman or should I just wait it out?

I would wait. Knowing that most result in rejection, there is no point speeding that up. With the bank you at least have the off chance of getting lucky due to them deciding that it is too expensive for them to keep looking and will auto payout.
