Can I still claim back?

Hi.
A few years ago I attempted to claim my PPI back on a capital 1 credit card. I received a letter back saying no and just left it. As it was years ago it was before everyone was told to challenge the banks response of no.
I know I was pursuaded into taking this insurance out without being told what it really was and for. The guy certainly didn't check if I needed it. I still feel I was mislead into taking out this product.
I'm now wondering if there is anything I can do and possibly try again?
Thanks for help in advance.

If you complaint was before 2011 then you can ask them to review your complaint again. However, if it is after that then you only get 6 months to refer your case to the FOS.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

The OP can ask but they are not obliged to do so. Assuming the six months FOS rights were given then this one has probably had it.0 -
I have checked and the original complaint was submitted into Capital early 2010 - would it be worth trying again?0

Also, if I was to try again would I complete the standard template form or write a letter requesting they review it again? I remember the original attemp to reclaim was done before the ombudsman form was available.
Thanks again
