Help with refunding rent please!

Hi all, new to the forums...
I've agreed to move out of my current privately rented property on 26th Jan. I pay rent a month in advance on 15th of the month (also paid a month up front along with my deposit when i moved in).
Given that i've already paid the rent on 15th Jan which effectively pays rent up until 15th Feb, am i entitled to a pro rata refund of rent from my landlord for the time i'm not there after my agreement has expired, given that I won't be in the property from 25th Jan?
Hope this makes sense and much appreciated!

1) "I've agreed to move out"... agreed how? In writing? On what basis? any conditions?
2) (related to 1 above) What tenancy Type? Fixed Term? End date? Periodic? Start/end dates of Periods?
Ending/Renewing an AST (what happens when the Fixed Term ends?)(What is a Periodic Tenancy?)(How can a LL remove a tenant?)(How can a tenant end a tenancy?)0 -
Thanks for the quick response...
It was a shorthold agreement for 6 months, i've been there over 3 years so the month's notice to leave was given in writing to my landlord 6 weeks ago who has accepted it.

I understand that any rent already paid does not have to be refunded by the landlord: Sounds bonkers, unfair, but that's my understanding (anyone got legal argument pro/against that??). Why did you decide to pay the full amount when you didn;'t need to??

Nothing to stop you writing/emailing a calm polite email pointing out you've paid for a period you ain't there & may you please have a refund.0 -
