Help - Good Mechanic in Sidcup, London SE

Hi

Just hit a kerb with my front left wheel and it now drives in a very wobbly way. I've had to stop the car.

Does anybody have any recommendation for a mechanic in Sidcup, in South East London? Or nearby? I would rather avoid going to the first random one.
Also I am not sure if I need any mechanic or some other type of more specialist service (tyre fitter? body-shop mechanic).

My car is not worth more than £500, so I'm keen to try and fix it as cheaply as possible.:money:

Please help.
Chris

Wright-Tech at Crittals Corner is the only one that springs to mind immediately. Spoken of very highly on the Mercedes Owner's Forum.

Failing that, there's a large Kwik-Fit on the Sevenoaks Way in Orpington who may be able to assist.

If you have breakdown cover, it could be worth giving them a call and getting the car recovered to one of the above - it sounds as though you've either bent something badly, or broken it and continued driving on it could prove risky / dangerous.

Not yet, but that's certainly a good idea!

Thanks - although mine is hardly a Mercedes - bit worried that might be a luxury standard I can not afford.

I have a "Ultimate Reward Account" with Halifax, but i doubt this would be included as hitting the kerb is probably classified as an "accident".

Andy at Wright-Tech is no more expensive in labour terms than most other garages. I suggested him because I've found him to be something that a lot of garage owners aren't - honest. If you need a part, he'll tell you, and won't replace anything unnecessary. He's also probably one of the closest to you, if you're in Sidcup.

Try swapping your wheel for the spare and, if the car's still driving strangely, give the breakdown people a call - yes, I suppose, technically it IS an accident, but if the spare wheel's on, then the 'accident damage' is rather less visible!

Top advice - really appreciate it! Feel a bit less lost in London with this!
