Orange/Lowell

Apologies in advance if this has been asked before but i can't find it.

Orange was included in my DRO & now Lowell are chasing me for a debt from Orange, that they say was from the Orange contract after the DRO. I was under the impression that the contract was cancelled by the DRO. Am I wrong? I'm sure I was cut off & couldn't make any calls after the DRO because that's when I changed to GiffGaff.

Thanks for your help.

Get a copy of your credit file - if you only have a single contract showing then the DRO will have switched this to settled. You then use this information to tell Lowell to go away!

    Noddle.co.uk :) free, for life! :T

But ideally, you should check all three, Noddle for CallCredit, Experian and Equifax (Experian and Equifax are £2 paper reports via post OR online viewing)

    Hi hoppo

How was Orange listed in your DRO? By that, I mean did you simply list their debt as the amount of arrears accumulated up to that point, or the whole amount owed including the remainder of the contractual term?

If you did not list the full debt legally owing to Orange in the DRO application, there is a danger that they (or someone on their behalf) could legitimately pursue any remaining unlisted balance.

    Regards
