The defining way to check is to go to the library and ask to see the Valuation Roll, this will show what band the properties are that surround you. If you are all broadly the same, chances of a successful appeal will be slim unless there has been a material change.

There is a link on the home page of the valuation agencies website (https://www.voa.gov.uk) where you can find out the council tax band of a property.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
