We've used them twice (assuming they are the ones in Hoxton). Fab service.
The first time we moved out of a 10th floor flat into a house and they brought everything down in the small lift. We packed.
The second time we moved 35 miles and did the packing again ourselves. They were again, fantastic. All done with minimum fuss and nothing broken. They worked like Trojans.
We gave them a big tip both times."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Should just add that my husband has a huge library of books and magazines so it wasn't a easy move for them."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Thanks Pimento.
I've had three companies quote for our move and Crispins were by far the lowest of the three (by about 30%!) Everyone says don't use the cheapest, but when the difference is this big it seems hard to ignore so thought I'd see what experience other MSEers might have had with them.0 -
I can't remember what we were charged (our last move was 12 years ago) but it was reasonable. I have in my head it was about £600 for the second move."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

The quote was done by a small Irish guy with a flat cap and he whizzed round the house taking notes without even looking at his notepad, he was that experienced.
I honestly can't say anything bad about them."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Thought I’d come back and update this thread in case anyone else is looking for reviews of Crispins. We decided to go ahead and use them for our move and we have no complaints.
They sent only a single guy to pack (we used their packing and moving service) and even though it was only a two bed flat, I imagined he would be there all day! However he was done by 2.30pm.
I think one of the ways they are cheaper than their competitors is that they do not use branded moving boxes. Everything was re-used (which I think is normal) but they also tended to be cardboard boxes from various food companies. They had about three difference sizes and also had proper wardrobe cartons with hanging rails. However everything was well packed with lots of blue paper and larger items such as furniture and TV were wrapped in blankets and tied securely in the truck.
On the day of the move they sent three people to move us. They arrived about 8.30am and started loading up the truck about 20 minutes later. I basically just stood around and made cups of tea for them every couple of hours, but they didn’t seem to mind. The unloading at the other end was just as swift. I stood at our front door and told them which room to put the boxes. Any furniture that needed putting back together (dining table, bed, headboards etc) was done by them without any fuss.
They have yet to come and pick up the empty cartons as we are still unpacking. Apparently they will only come out once to do this so you need to have everything unpacked before you call them.0
