Hi
I finally paid off my Capital One card. Over the past year, there have been times when I have struggled to make payments and, stupidly - I know - missed the occassional payment. When I spoke to Capital One last month, they told me that once the balance was paid off, they would remove these missed payments from my credit history. After paying it off, I rang them to close the account. I mentioned about removing the missed payments, but they are now saying that they can't do anything about it and that I'm stuck with it for the next 6 years! Is this right? Is there nothing I can do?
Thanks

I'm afraid this is correct, and there's nothing you can do. I speak from experience as Mrs YB was *late* (on a technicality) with a couple of payments back in 1996 and these were still on her record when we re-mortgaged in 2001.pultok wrote:I mentioned about removing the missed payments, but they are now saying that they can't do anything about it and that I'm stuck with it for the next 6 years!
