Best Hand Held Hoover for Pet Hairs

My hoover is hopeless on pet hairs, not a problem downstairs as it's hard flooring but the stairs have cream carpet (or at least it used to be cream! 2 black cats and a mad spaniel have left them looking less than great) so I'm just after a mini hand held type so I can get them looking vaguely respectable again. Any recommendations, please?

The new Geotech hand held, mini vacuum is FABULOUS! Had it 2 weeks now and it is doing a great job on "Stairs and Hairs" which are a continuous problem in our house.
It's light, easy to use and very manoeverable. Has a torch which I thought was going to be a gimmick but in fact is really useful!
Stays charged long enough to get everything done round here.
Plenty of attachments which I haven't used and if you get it from the Geotech site, you get free delivery and a free extending tube!!
It does cost £149 though. But it's cheaper than the Dyson one!0 -

I'll look into that one, thanks!0 -
All I can say is stay away from the Dyson.......I had the DC35 Animal and ended up giving it away after a month. It was useless at getting hairs and only had 6 minutes on the boost setting.
I know it's not a handheld but I replaced the Dyson with Hetty and she is fab! You get an extra bit of hose so you don't need to lug her up/down the stairs
I have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

I cant comment on the Geotech, but would agree that the Dyson does not do an awful lot despite the price.
What I do swear by is this

It gathers hair up from carpets, upholstery and bedding so it can be easily removed.0 -

I have Hetty too! I had to help her out though by buying the additional Airobrush for pet hairs, because she just couldn't manage on her own
