Closing Capital one (Luma)?

I have 3 CCs as well as a 1.5k Overdraft,

Lloyds student 1.25k limit opened Oct 12
Capital One 500 limit @ 0 purchase% till May opened December 2013
Luma 500 opened April 2013

I'm considering closing my Luma account- is it likely that I'd get any offers from retention like Barclaycard holders seem to have been given?

I'm hoping to get a good 0% CC for 12 months + in the near future

  • Agree close the Luma card down.

I still don't understand the likes of luma giving 0% on a balance transfer with credit limits of £500.

I didn't get the BT one- I got the Capital One Complete purchase 0% in December

But I'll phone and ask if I can get a limit increase first, if I'm declined then I'll close the account forthwith.

Bought a new laptop so I've already used up my £500 on my C1 at 0%

Btw my Luma was 0% for 3 months from April 2013!

I phoned them and there was an offer to a slightly higher £750 (not even 1k!)I decided to accept it .
  • Assuming it's the Luma 4% cashback card, it might be worth holding on to, to do the food shopping and pay off by FP as soon as you get home.

It depends what your motivations for killing off a card are, though.

It's a plain Luma (was 0% for 3 months) and I mentioned it earlier

I've decided to close it after accepting a Credit limit increase to £750
