moving from adsl to cable help needed

in Techie Stuff
at present we have 2 computers, one is wired to the router (adsl, one's wired as i recently changed laptops and the old one didn't have built in wireless so i just kept the setup) which beams the signal to the downstairs desktop. On saturday we are getting it changed to cable. I thought we would just need a new cable router but now I've been told we will need a switch/hub thing? Both computers are wireless.
Fr. Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.

Yes, you will need to buy a router to share the internet connection from a cable modem, because Virgin Media's cable modems only have 1 ethernet output, and no wireless output. Make sure you buy a router, not an ADSL router. An ADSL router will have a phone line as the input, whereas a router will have en ethernet connection as an input.

so all i need is a cable router then, and both comps can connect wirelessly? thats what i thought but someone confused me with the hub/switch thing, lolFr.
