Groupon exercise bike not fit for use

Hi all

I bought a spinning bike through groupon. No voucher was issued and the supplier supplied the bike. On using the bike the seat goes down in height as you cycle. So we contacted them and eventually they agreed to pick it up and refund us.

I arranged for someone to be home on the day of collection. However the driver ( despite a note saying to use the side door) only came to the front door and the person sitting in didn't hear him. The driver also rang me 30 minutes before on my mobile and the night before to advise time of delivery. However when he didn't get a answer he phoned my landline and left a message there. The person sitting in was using our annexe.

They are now refusing to collect without us paying a forty pound charge.

Where do I stand. Groupon have failed to sort it out despite several calls.


Any help or advise appreciated.

    Sorry but if I have someone waiting for a collection I am not sitting in annexe all day and if they gave you a expected time I would be "around" taht time on the lookout, think you have made this harder for yourself than you needed to

    It was my father in law and he lives in there. There was a note on the front door clearly stating to go to door at side of house.

    Why did you not mention the note on the door in the OP? Are you sure it was there?

    It was mentioned.
    I took that as meaning on the "System" when the courier was booked
  • The note was still there on the door when I got home in the evening.


    Any advise people. I am keen to get this resolved and need advise on how to tackle them (groupon / supplier)
  • OK I phoned groupon last night again, and refused to be fobbed off. I persisted on the phone until I spoke with a manager. He seemed to understand the problem and has now took it to the bike supplier. I await their response back.
