Hi Steve
Already signed the petition. Thanks for setting that up.
Bit of an update, phoned complaints and was told to contact the bank and get the DD reversed and N power will need to set up a new DD mandate.
Phoned executive complaints and got my complaint of 10 months escalated from stage 1 to stage 3 and now have an actual person looking at it for me. Light t the end of the tunnel or isit a train coming!. Thanks all for your input.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
Ah thanks puc, only three more votes to reach page 1!
Good to hear it's escalated........same here. Likely then back to ombudsmen!0 -
Just had my DD increased from £219 to £332, again with no warning. You can get a request to take a reading by email but apparently not a DD warning increase via same. Rang their 0800 number via SAYNOTO and given 0800 316 9328 to ring tomorrow. I know I'm paying too much at £219 per DD over a full year but was willing to live with it. I'll request a complaint reference tomorrow. Suspect they'll have many.0

Just for the record, I sent this complaint on to the npower rep on here and have been ignored. Kinda sums the company up. Can't wait to leave them.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

From viewing many complaints N power seem to be in a very dark place they have just come top for customer complaints. I remember when Edf was bottom two years running and awarded the wooden spoon. This was according to them because of a new computer system. I must say its been much much better in the last year and no complaints from me. So question is what has changed at N power to cause many massive DD complaints as well as other issues. Staff, Computer changes, Ignorance, until they get a grip they will be bottom for complaints in my view from reports i read. Do what i did after recollection, three months of written and logged phone complaints raise to the energy ombudsman it worked for me.
Indeed, nPower have a new computer system - if you can call one 12-18 months old "new" - but that is the cause of most of the issues.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -

I'm never one to defend npower, but as the previous poster alluded to with edf, when these data migrations go wrong, they do take a while to get right.0 -
I have been having continual problems with my Npower meter readings since July 2011. Basically, they keep transposing my off peak and normal readings.
Up to February 2013, this was corrected manually. However, this became impossible to resolve manually and I submitted a formal complaint in March 2013. Every month I phoned to check on the progress of the complaint but got nowhere. I keep paying the monthly DD of £120. At the time of compaint, I was told that they would not charge me the incorrect balance figure until the account issue was resolved. I haven't received a statement since jan 2013.
In sep 2013, I got a letter saying my complaint was still under investigation and I need do nothing.
Today, I discovered that Npower had removed over £1060 from my bank account on Jan 2 2014 with absolutely no warning or explanation. it looks like they have increased my DD from £120 to £1060. To say I am angry is an understatement. Is this even legal?
Does anybody have any advice how to deal with Npower, resolve the account issue and help me escape this incompetent company? Any advice will be very welcome.
Hello puc,
thank you for your post.
I would like to look into this for you and look at getting you a quick resolution.
You say you have emailed the address on the profile page, when was that as this should have been picked up?
If you can send me an email to the address on my page I will pick this up personally and look into your account.
Thanks
Carmel

Sorry to hear your problems with N Power, I am having problems with them also regarding my Mothers account. She has not had a bill for 12 months either and they seem completely uninterested in doing anything about it.
I was wondering what tariff you were on with them? My Mother is on their Super Tariff, which is apparently the root of all the problems, as their all singing/dancing computer will not accept the meter or the readings and cannot produce bills.
I am in the process of contacting the onbudsmen and the Minister for Energy about it all, as it is a disgrace what they are being allowed to get away with. I have been lied to and given nothing but broken promises and they just expect people to carry on paying when they cannot even produce bills.
I hope you get somewhere with them soon.0 -

Having worked for a global bank, in their IT department for 8 years I agree, but I've never seen such a shambles as what nPower have achieved.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -
