apply for hardship payments, you can not get them for the first 2 weeks tho.

If you do apply, search on here what you need to say, as simply sayingyou have no money for food is not enough, you have to make sure you tick all the boxes are they will simply turn you down.

also email your MP, include your name and address so they can reply to you, if you do not live in the MPs area they can not help you, so they firs tneed to know where you live, even if they do not help, at least you are making them aware of these daft rules.

you could appeal but i think it has to be within 7 days? so you might as well just apply for the hardship payment, asl check with your local council as a lot of help has been moved to them from the goverment.

thank you sniggins will email my Mp tommorow

I presume my letter back the day i received the "decision" counts as an appeal?
  • You have a month from the date on the letter to appeal.

Get the forms and fill them in. Put in whatever you can to back up your situation.

that's good to know, a month.

But I doubt you stand much chance tbh, look into the hardship payment at the same time, as you need money now.

They are very harsh these days, they will stop your money for any reason they can, and unless you tick their boxes they will not overturn the sanction, so it might be worth looking into the ground for appeals, there will be info on the internet, just giving the details of your case is not enough, most times, they do not use common sense, fail to say exactly what they have written down, then you do not get a tick in the box, so no money, it's that bad.

as said look into what help your local council will offer, as the govenment has stopped a lot of help centrally but the local councils have taken it over.
  • Get the appeal in as soon as possible. They can take months.

I agree, still apply for the hardship payments. At least it's something for 2 out of the 4 weeks.
