What Family Car?

cheers for the advice everyone, I can't tell you how helpful it is in my decision making
.

Thats exactly what I said to the wife, we have two !!!!!es, but the one's a Bichon/Yorkie cross. The pups still go for around £300-£500, I just don't think I can cope with three dogs an 8month old baby and a house full of puppies lol.
I think I might take everyones advice and stick with the newer focus, rather than buying a new car altogether, at least I know that car, and the issues it may have in the future. I've already replaced the handbrake cable and there was a major leak from the heater matrix, which I've now fixed. So hopefully, apart from if the clutch goes or something I should get a few more thousand miles out of it before it needs any major money spent on it... (he hopes)

Another vote for the 05 Focus.
I assume it is last of the older shape?
Newer one is a little bit roomier but they are both solid family cars.
Yes maybe an estate model may be more practical but that would mean spending money.
Also the noise you are getting from the diesel one would make it a non starter for long term ownership.
It may go for another 60k as mentioned.
Or it could go bang next week.
Much less to go wrong with a Focus 1.6 petrol.
They are also much quieter and should only be 10/15 mpg behind the diesel in fuel economy. Maybe more if you really try.
But round town turbo diesels are out of their confort zone, they are more at home on a motorwalay at steady speed with little boost being used.
Driven hard it is easy to get a turbo diesel below 20mpg.0 -
Cheers bigjl! Yeah I think your right mate. Don't really want to spend anymore money on buying cars
think we're gonna stick with the 05 focus and I'm gonna have to lighten my right foot. Thanks everyone for all your opinions/advice
