plughole blockage-is brown vinegar ok

Hi

I've a plughole blockage.
I don't have any white vinegar as I used it all yesterday, and wondered if brown vinegar, together with soda crystals will do the job.

I don't fancy using chemical unblockers in case they react with the soda crystals and white vinegar, put down there yesterday.
Thanks

Thanks but I tried soda crystals only, and nothing seemed to happen.
  • you need to mix soda crystals in a bucket then pour that down the drain

buy a bottle of cheap coke & use that
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

If soda crystals don't work you are in to One Shot type products.

A thin wire is useful to poke holes in the gunk, so the liquids can penetrate further.

    Hi ..I've a plughole blockage..
Is the trap easily accessible or is it buried under a shower or bath etc?

Traps for basins and sinks are usually easy to get at.

I occasionally disassemble our bathroom sink traps to remove the accumulation of hair debris etc.

If you do that, clean it elsewhere. Don't make the mistake of rinsing it out in its own sink. :D

    Hi

The trap is buried under a shower and bath, the shower pipe runs the length of the bath.
    Unable to disassemble.

    Thanks though

Caustic soda - cheap and very effective. Just be careful not to get it on your skin. Much cheaper than the branded things like Mr. Muscle etc., and in my experience far more effective.
