Applying to the Court of Protection

Sorry if this is not the correct area, mods please move if there is a more relevant area.

Basically i need to apply to the court of protection, regarding my concerns for the financial welfare of a close relative who is currently sectioned, i feel his financial affairs are being abused and their is abuse of trust going on, by the person who was put in charge.

My question is what is the best way in filling out the forms?

Websites like this offer help http://www.court-of-protection.com/howcanwehelp.php but are they actually any good?

Has anyone had any expierence on this?

I'm not an expert but you could call them on the freephone number of their website

    https://www.gov.uk/court-of-protection

Or I'd personally say contact your local Citizens Advice and see if they recommend a local solicitor (or use your own if you have one) or can offer further advice

The CAB have a board here on MSE Forums which may be worth checking out

    No longer in use, unfortunately.

You can get free half hour sessions with solicitors which might be of use. Ask when/if you phone any.

The website you link to, OP, is a business; they will charge. The .gov site would be my first port of call were I in your shoes. link in post 2

Fedster - DO NOT USE the site that you quoted; they are not the Court of Protection but a "form-filling" service who will charge you at least £60 for completing the forms which you can do yourself for free.

The link quoted by jkkne is the place to go - https://www.gov.uk/court-of-protection

Don't use any service other than the proper Government one.

Thanks Vali, I was unaware of that I'd best stop referring friends to it!

Assume you have evidence to back this up ?
