How to make atutu princess dress?

I'm making my daughter a Cinderella inspired princess dress. Similar to this Snow White one but with puffy sleeves and bigger skirt

Now I can do all the skirt part fine, but I'm confused ihow to do the bodice? Or what it is? Is that crotchet?
I can't find any info on the net, so thought I'd ask my crafty friends instead!

Push come to shove I will use a vest for that bit, but it will be difficult getting it n the correct colour I would think

Cottontailboutique.com do one with puff sleeves and poofier tutu, perhaps look at that for ideas
  • Thanks flea, the website you gave me has a lot of those dresses on Pinterest which I've been looking at. I know how to do the sleeves and skirt it is just the bodice.
I have no idea how to create that? And I can't find any tutorials online either

Just in case it interests you, it's shirring in America, here it's called smocking (although that looks like some pretty fancy smocking) which is probably a more recognizable term to people :-D
