Hi
Im new on here and this is my first post so dont know if it is on the right page etc
i have just recieved a letter from a solicitor on behalf of Lowell from a debt by Fredricksons
they are saying i have a £400 debt which i have to pay by the 28/1/14 or legal procedings will start and a CCJ could be issued
The thing is i have no idea who the original debt was from as i have bad credit and have had nothing on credit or phone contracts since at least 2005,i had bad credit then and was advised by debt helpline to offer all the people o wed money too to pay £1 a month, they all refused
where do i stand?
Thanks for reading this

Bryan Carter? If you can't identify the account from their info, then use this letter
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2607247
It is probably an ancient phone contract. If you haven't acknowledged it for six years by payment or in writing then it's probably statute barred.
Info here:
Statute barred debts and the Limitation Acts0 -
Yes Bryan Carter, thank you ill do that and ill let you know0

Be aware however that Bryan Carter/Fredricksons are quite aggressive in their collection activities, if they say they'll go for a CCJ, there's a good chance they will. Unlike other DCAs who huff and puff and well, that's it.
Get on top of it ASAP.0
