Hi,
I've waited nearly four weeks for a reply to my initial request for bank charges, and have now been sent a letter telling me they can't send me the details as my present address is now different from the one on my account( as i had closed it a year ago). And they returned my cheque.
Delaying tactics or what!!!!!!!

Pretty much but they do have a point. They could be held up for breach of the act if they provide the details to the wrong person and they are well aware of the consequences of doing so. Not to worry though, simply write and provide proof of a change of address. You can ring them and ask what they would consider as proof.
They may treat this as a fresh request and take their time sending them but you may wish to mention that, since they have already located them, you dont expect any obstruction or undue delay in supplying them.

I had the same problem with Abbey - I'd moved after closing the account! Ask them to look on 'Hunter' or do a Credit Check on you to prove you are who you say you are, they may want to re-charge you for this but as they only get charged around 50p for an address check don't let them tell you its any more
, alternatively ask them if you can fill in a change of address form at a local branch.
