Screen mirroring from apple device to Samsung TV

Hi

We recently purchased a 60 inch 3d Samsung tv. My dad got a bonus from work! Yay :)

It says it has the screen mirroring function but I don't know if that is just from other Samsung devices. Does anyone know if I can mirror my iPad 1 or iPhone 4s to the tv?

    you need an Apple TV to screen mirror an ipad or iPhone

    Samsung TVs in theory should support anything that had miracast / widi, although on samsung devices that call it allshare cast

    You can but not wireless unless you buy an Apple TV.
    You can buy an expensive Apple cable which connects your iPhone to an HDMI connection.

    AFAIK fully supported mirroring needs a Samsung Android phone.

    However, with my Samsung Smart TV and iPad, I can 'cast' YouTube no trouble and also use the 'flipps' app to push some content (most of it rubbish TBH).

    I can also use Samsung's app to receive a mirror of the transmission from the TV and use the iPad as a remote control. Quite handy to keep watching when in the lavvy.

    The telly has its inbuilt apps for Lovefilm, Netflix etc.
