Revive Central Heating Radiator - to good to be true?

I'm looking for a Double Convector Radiator. The ideal size (to fit under a large window) is 2.2m long by 400mm high.

I've found this one from MrCentrallHeating.co.uk:

Revive Double Deluxe K2

But it looks ridiculously cheap at £94 and so I'm very dubious about the quality.

I can't find another radiator with a similar size. The closest is one made by Stelrad (whom I've used before and been extremely happy with) which is 2.5m long but only 300mm high:

Stelrad Compact Double K2 Radiator

It costs about £140 and it's about 1000 btu less than the Revive one.

So the question is, do you (not) get for what you (don't) pay for with the Revive brand? Anybody with any experience?

Alternatively, does anybody know of other manufacturers that do a 400mm high radiator with lengths around 2.2m?

Thanks

A key issue is does the Reveive have a BS Kitemark. If not I would avoid it.
If it does have one, what guarantee is offered with the radiator?

Thanks. How would I know if it has a Kitemark? Their website states:

    - EN442 tested and certified
    - High quality paint finish – white enamel (RAL 9016)
    - Tested to 13 BAR
    - 10 year guarantee

A ten year guarantee sounds fine - if the company lasts that long. There's no indication from their website of how long they have been in business - does anybody know?

  • The address for Revive Radiators is the same as Mr Central Heating so I'd say it's an own-brand.

Neither website says who you're actually dealing with. MR CENTRAL HEATING LIMITED of SW6 6BW Company No. 03990305 is listed by Companies House as formed in 2000 and is dormant.

You need to research what EN442 is, and who is doing the testing and certifying.

I do not know the brand or product. However, judging by Owain Moneysaver's excellent post I wonder if the radiators are made in a back yard in China from the remains of take away containers?

Thanks guys. Everything points towards a dodgy brand so I'll have to stick with the Stelrad 300mm high raditator - shame, I really want a 400mm high one.

i bought my complete boiler /central heating set from Mr Central Heating. I have revive radiators. No complaints whats so ever. Mr Central Heating are a fairly big company with a number of branches. Far from a "dodgy brand". I don't find anything unusual with them supplying their own Radiators. Makes financial sense if they can source similar if not better radiators than other companies.

I would buy with confidence. I certainly would again.

Another +1 for MrCentralHeating, recent newbuild done with them supplying the whole kit'n'kaboodle, boiler included.
It's not 'top of the range' but then for the price you don't expect it to be.

I'm quite encourage by this thread as buying from this company will save me more than fifty per cent ("200+quid) on a 180cm high 3 column radiator, which would be almost 500 quid from Delonghi.

My concern is that they're too cheap, relative to the Delonghi , a brand that I've used before.

    Any further comments or experience?
