Just bought a laptop from Dell which has Windows Vista Premium installed.
Any views from anyone on here?
I did post a question about what free security software to use on it, but i've had no response on another thread.
Hopefully someone on here can help on this thread...please!!!

The answer is yes.
But you have a windows firewall, and possibly mcafee trial already on the laptop.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
What do you want to know? I use Home Premium and like it.
For free Anti-Virus I use AVG, for anti-spyware I use Spybot, Ad-aware and defender.
No free firewalls I'm aware of yetIt's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
We got Vista business on my daughters laptop, took Mcfee off and installed Trend internet security on it.
Still prefer Xp any day though0 -
i just got a new pc with vista premium and am still unsure whether i like it or not.
my printer installed fine, but my webcam and speakers won't.
also, some of my OH's games won't load and i've tried switching the compatability and still nothing.
have also had the BSOD a couple of times, when the OH has been playing a game. gets part way through the game and it just stops and then the blue screen appears.0 -
ZoneAlarm now offers a free firewall for Vista, though I'm still not sure whether it's better than Windows' firewall. Avast Antivirus works on here too and Windows Defender keeps to itself.0

Cheers!
So basically i will have Windows Defender pre installed as well as The Windows Firewall?
All i should need in addition will be AVG Antivirus and Spybot search and destroy spyware?
If i add ZoneAlarm (Firewall) will it not conflict with the Windows firewall?
Thanks for your help!0 -
