If I had my way, I'd drop decimilisation too. Back to the pound, shilling and pence. Then money meant something!

No way to the Euro (Did anyone ever wonder why Switzerland is the richest country.... one guess, no EU)

I don't have a problem with charity; if Britain want's to contribute to Poland's funds, that's fine, but don't let the Germans/French/et al dictate it to us
  • aye not forgetting the gold standard. None of this inflationary paper rubbish

Also....Its about time we were on the same clock time as Europe...backwards and forwards with the time every crossing of the channel.

    OR
    Leave Europe altogether

    couldn't agree more!
  • Change to the Euro and move in to the 21st Century. It is so much easier to use when going from country to country. Forget the sentimentality and so called tradition of the British pound etc. Coming from Scotland, our major banks issue their own very colourful and interesting notes and which are very distinctive but whether origininating from Royal Charter or not, they do cause a LOT of problems and not just in England. In Europe they are just a No No!
Someone wrote that we should even ditch metrication and returns to pounds shillings and pence "because they mean something " WHAT ? ( and this comes from an ex banker)
Those born after 1971, trying going back and calculating you money in that old fashioned way and as for metrication, well measuring using centimetres etc. is so much more accurate and easy so is it not just that the "old brigade" who probable still measure the price of everything against a loaf of bread at fourpence halfpenny and two BU's , just are too lazy to try and even learn the metric system?
Yes at 70, I still have problems deciding what a kilo is like compared with a pound weight but I have accepted it all and would never want to go back to Imperial weights and measures. Gracious I would be lost if someone now quoted fuel in pounds and pence per gallon !

Ah I see. So just for the single reason of the convinience of not having to go and change your money this country is to give up everything, its currency and independance. The currency is the final nail in Britains coffin as we surrender more and more to a European superstate. We joined the common market. We did not ask to be joined to this. Its quite possible to stay out of Europe but still trade with them as we do.

Keep the pound. Our economy is stronger outside the EU. If anything we ought to be asking why they don't scrap the Euro and join the Pound!
  • refuse the euro, fill in the channel tunnel and declare ourselves a totally new continent, nothing to do with europe at all,

  • Let's adopt the euro and get rid of all the rip-off bureaux de change in our highstreets. It's only a matter of (a long) time before we get it anyway, like it or not.

You can't vote in this poll any longer by the way.
  • lets ditch the euro, pound and dinar and kip just have
    dollars
  • If we were ever going to join the Euro we should have done it years ago.

    It's simply too late now.

The reckless and out of control behaviour by politicians all over the Euro-zone are going to force us to reconsider our relationship with that are of the world.

Especially in two years time when the selfish muppets crippling this once great country are expelled from office and put on trial for crimes against the British people.
