Experian - "Recent missed payment"

SomeUser
I've just looked at my credit history with Experian and it says "You have recent missed payments on your credit report"
What counts as "recent"? Because there's certainly none on there in the last 6 months...
Thanks

Your credit history goes back 6 years.
No idea what they class as recent. I guess most companies will have they own rules. A CC company may not be happy with any missed payment in the last 6 months. A mortgage company may ignore a small missed payment in the last few months. But not several.
As long as you dont make a habit of it.
Are you applying for more credit or just checking the reports?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I need to apply for a mortgage so I'm just going through all my credit histories.
As an aside - Experian is not great generally, with very few of my credit accounts, some still open "settled" accounts that noddle have as closed. Although the limited data they do have is correct.0 -
When where the payments missed and how many where there?0

Maybe Experian displays the information in a different way to CallCredit (Noddle)?
If Experian is not receiving updates, you need to contact your creditors and tell them.
You ought to check Equifax as well, in the lead up to the mortgage application.0 -

Yeah, experian does display them differently.
You're right about Equifax - I got it yesterday and found a default on there from OUSBA from a couple of months ago for £1400
I thought I'd withdrawn from the course and paid all I owed - I had spinal surgery and moved in with my mum (and hence wanting to get out and get a mortgage now!) and never received the notices. They also moved to a new system and everything their end was a right mess for a while so it was difficult to know what was going on. One minute they were taking payments, the next they weren't due to system issues.
I've sent them a letter requesting info to see if they have the signed credit agreement etc, but then also sent them another email pleading with them saying that I'll pay it all off in full immediately if they'll remove it and I'll withdraw my previous letter. I can prove all the moving house, the death of a relative and the spinal surgery so I'm hoping they may show some mercy.
I don't know whether they will - I've asked for details of how I can set up a payment plan (as would pay the full amount on a credit card) if they don't agree to remove the default, and will fight it in any way I can.
I'm hoping that receiving the money in full, immediately, in spite of the issues their end, and not having to go through the legal/administrative stuff might be enough of an incentive for them to remove the default.
Finding it was a massive blow though.0
