£250 Payed In To My Bank And Dont No Where Its From??

Hi, Ive just looked at my bank that i never use and Ive had £250 payed in and i don't no where its from or what to do?? Can any one advise me what to do? Should i tell the bank or should i keep me mouth shut :confused: please help cheers Gary

    You need to contact the bank, they will know where it has come from as it will have a reference

    Do not draw on the money as it is NOT yours. If you do and they find out eventually that it went in to your account in error, they will want it back.

    Ring them and ask for the reference, before you tell them its not yours

    It could have been a refund from some fraudulent action which is going on a lot just lately.

    Cheers i got in touch with the bank and they are looking in to it they said it will take about 5 working days to get back to me. Gary

    They would have contacted the customer first though to advise that it would have come out in the first place

    Not necesarily. Someone was taking small amounts out of my bank at a time like £5 here and £10 there for about 2 months before my bank contacted me. They refunded the lot but in the time inbetween them phoning me and them blocking my account they took £1500 from my bank.

    dear bling, I have just noticed that a sum of money has been taken from my account, around £249.00 in fact I beleive this has been accidentally put into another account. The name in which I have the account is FLING which is what I was going to use the money for. If you think our accounts may have been mixed up, please forward the dosh to me forthwith. Regards F
