Interest-free purchases

Just been wondering about this. If a company offers 3 months of interest-free purchases, does this mean that it remains interest-free for the term of the card or does it mean that once the 3 months is up they start to charge interest on purchases made? Also, how much is the average rate of interest charged? It's not made very clear.

It means that. Those three months you won't pay any interest as long as you make the mimimum payment. But once the three months are up then you have to clear the balance in full to avoid further interest.0
