Quote for Patio

Hi all. Second time of asking this time using different words.

How much have you paid for having your patio laid using bricks/natural stones/etc. I have 32m2 to cover ground in backgarden as replacement to 1" thick old concrete slabs. Also how long did it take to do the job? Thank you.

First time of answering, using same words...

Well, I had 46 square metres to have done plus big steps. Involved a LOT of cutting slabs at edges and around manhole covers etc and I paid £1200 which included everything, including removal of huge old concrete slabs, except the new slabs. Local chap did it - and did a fantastic job. (About 4 days, incl about 4 hours just for the pointing.)

Sounds excellent !!! and a bargain from what I have received so far....£3000....Not in/around newcastle by any chance???
  • I had just 20 sq mtrs and it cost me £600 and it was a complete bodge job.

I was given a quote of £1000 for that size and I think I really should have gone with it.

It is very hard manual labour. I was talking to a gardener I know from across the road and they say after laying one patio there is no way they would continue offering it as a service, it is back breaking, and very hard work.

So I think be prepared to pay a fairly high price, but make sure you have seen previous work done by the person who is fitting it.
