Looking for cooker hood with really bright lights

An elderly relative as cooker hood which just recirculates via a filter and the only lights are two small-wattage incandescent bulbs.
Due to failing eyesight, they really need far stronger task lighting over the hob.
Anyone know of a cooker hood which has an array of LEDs/halogens which are more like 100W of 'old skool' lights ?

You want to look for a hood with 2 20W halogen lights rather than 2 40W incandescent bulbs. These usually have a reflector too so you get more light where you want it. Hoods with incandescent bulbs often don't have reflectors so over half the light goes the wrong way.
You could try changing the incandescent bulbs for the low energy halogen types (the ones with a halogen bulb inside a old style bulb). You can get 42W versions of those (I'm guess your current hood is 40W) which is equivalent to 55W incandescent. Halogen gives a brighter, whiter light so might make the current hood ok.0
