Sparkly/Glittery Tiles?

Options
Hi all

Does anybody have any idea where I can get some sparkly or glittery bathroom tiles from? I have got it into my head that is what I want (after seeing some in a butchers!!) but Hubbie is not going to spend a fortune so they will have to not be too expensive.

I have seen similar in kitchen worktops - think they are quartz?

Many thanks

    Try http://www.pilkingtons-tiles.co.uk/catalogdownload/catalogdownload.htm

They are an English manufacturer, download the above brochure and should be able to find the quartz range.

However, these tiles (and most in this style) you are going to find are floor tiles. That's not to say they can't be fixed to a wall, but you're going to need to check the weight per m2, and check with the adhesive company that it will support this weight. Also, being a floor tile a type of marble, they most probably have a square edge - so your walls are going to have to be perfect for the finish you are after = not cheap.

I was considering cutting my right arm off for the most beautiful pink sparkly, shimmery mosaic tiles from Porcelanosa a couple of years back.

    http://www.porcelanosa.co.uk/consumer/wallTiles/index.htm

They were £160 per square meter, but I worked out that I could use them as a border and only need 1 square meter to do 2 bathrooms :j :j

However, I was too slow. I don't think they sell those ones now. :(

There's a brilliant tile shop in Fulham, London if that's any good?

Porcelanosa have stores all over the country now, so have a look online for your nearest. Expect to pay anything from £60m2 - to the public my ensuite tiles went for £200m2!

Topps aren't great for natural marble and stone, but you may find something similar. Apart from that try tile clearing houses - they buy end of line stock in Italy and Spain - do an internet search for your area, something should come up.

I've just had some tiles from these - 13 square foot for my kitchen, utility and downstairs loo - £480 inc delivery - they look stunning - had them installed on Monday! They are around £35 a square foot but in the shops they cost around £80!!!! Excellent quality tiles with gold sparkly bits!:T
  • I've came across this site: www.sparkletiles.com which it seems has got lots of information about these sparkly floor tiles.
    I hope it helps.
