Slider problem (I think)

I'm not sure what to call my problem so I'll explain it as simply as I can. I have been trying to buy travel insurance and when I try to put in the year of my birth I can't slide the slider down to the year I was born as the slider does not seem to be working, in fact it won't move at all. I thought it might be a problem with the site I was on so I tried to log into my bank account and where it wanted my password again the slider wouldn't move.

I hope you understand what I mean and you can let me know what I can do to make it work? Thanks for reading.

Thanks for your prompt reply, I'm afraid I'm a bit of a dummy when it comes to computers, could you give me a clue what the most popular browsers are and it may ring a bell with me? Or, how can I find out?

Oh I see - Google chrome
  • I can't help, only to say that my mother is experiencing exactly the same problem as you with Google Chrome, so try using IE and see if that works.

Or perhaps try using the up and down arrows on the keyboard and then use the enter key, that works on many sites ....

Google chrome has recently updated, it may be bugs, on top there are quite a few changes of the sort you mention. Most websites and forms look and behave differently for me now.
I don't have any bugs but yesterday when I tried to get the cursor blinking in a box it wouldn't work seemingly. But when I clicked and began typing anyway it was fine.
The slider now has to be clicked and dragged, or use the keyboard keys, there is no longer a visible up and down on the slider bar.

How do I use the keyboard to drag the slider down?

Simply tap the up and down arrows on your keyboard.
Alternatively click on the slider with the mouse, hold the click and drag the slider up/down.

It is Google Chrome that's the problem as I downloaded Firefox and that works fine.

    Thanks for all your help.
