Slight ESA/pension confusion

Hi all
After years of thinking I really understood the system I have just received a letter from the DWP which has me slightly confused.
It is the standard letter notifying me of my ESA amount payable from 8 April, £101.15. It then says that from 3rd March 2015 the amount will be £148.35 a week because of an age change.
My birthdays is in September and on 6th March 2015 I become eligible for the state pension. I always understood that ESA was only payable to people of working age, and I was expecting my ESA claim to be stopped on 6th March.
Can anyone clarify this for me please. I haven't the energy to try and phone the DWP. Apologies if it is obvious but I'm not myself at the moment!:)

Hello, having been in a similar situation myself a few years ago, ESA does in fact cease on the date that you become eligible for the State Retirement Pension. The dates are different for women and men0
