My husband has received form N1CPC Claim form regarding a debt with the HSBC Bank. If he ignored the form would a judgement be entered without further notice making it difficult to get credit? Would any further action be taken against him? He Can't remember how much he owes because it was about six years ago. He also had entered into an IVA with payplan for a while and paid so much to them and then stopped altogether because he found it hard to manage so payplan obviously referred him back to creditor but was the amount paid to payplan offset from the outstanding debt? He does not know what to do next.

If he does not respond then the creditor can ask for a judgement in default to be entered against him. That would normally order you to pay the full amount immediately. If you failed to do that, then the creditor might consider taking measures to enforce the judgement, such as a charging order, bailiffs, attachment of earnings etc.
Just ignoring it is NOT a good idea.
Phone National Debtline on freephone 0808 808 4000 to see whether they think you can dispute or defend the claim, which could be possible if it is nearing 6 years since he had anything to do with the debt.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I agree do NOT ignore this. He needs to speak with HSBC and find out the amounts owed etc. a CCJ will ruin any ability to obtain further credit.
Does he not have any idea what the debt was for or an approximation of how much? Do you have the ability to pay them before the judgement is made?0 -
The amount owed will be on the county court claim.
Until you put a value on this, we are in the dark.Be happy...;)0
