Any other peeps having great problems contacting Shawbrook? Ring the customer services number automatic message stating a 48 hour response? Go to website and use contact form and it wont accept any messages.. not a great confidence builder especially when significant funds requested for withdrawl... very worrying

I was just about to apply for an account with them, but you have put me off:(

Please post again when you find out what is going on.
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

Previously Shawbrook had good customer service however they seem to have a few capacity problems with moving existing customers to online accounts.

In the middle of that they've given a few days notice that market leading fixed rate offerings are being stopped and replaced by new issues at lower rates. I presume many new/existing savers have applied for these which has created a big bottleneck.

Added to that, it's virtually impossible to get through on the phone and they are offering 48hour callback which means that customers may miss out on these offers (which have now ended)

All in all this doesn't add too much goodwill to the brand.

Presumably things will settle down soon but they shouldn't be introducing online servicing in the middle of making changes to savings accounts.

Website wouldn't take messages and I tried again on phone no use.. eventually twitter came to rescue and I got a call back in five minutes and my problem resolved. So happy my issue has been dealt with but very poor cs and as previously stated not a confidence builder I would think twice about providing funds with them .

    Small bank. Best buy rates.

Bound to get extremes of service.
  • One problem with a bank is not a recommendation not to use them surely?
  • Definite problems. I opened an account and yesterday transferred some money via faster payments. 24 hours later money is not in my account and telephone call confirms no trace although I checked sort and account numbers which are correct and shown correctly on my sending bank. Told to look again on Monday but feel very worried as all 3 other faster payments went through within one hour. Not a huge sum of money but worrying none the less and will now be closing this account asap. The slightly higher interest rate is just not worth the worry.

I think its a little early to be worried and considering closing the account.

Most payments arrive within hours (or minutes!) but some can take longer, and arrive the following working day. It is possible that your sending bank has delayed the payment for a 'security' check. This is a distinct possibility if for example, you sent a small payment (to test you have correct receiving account details) followed by a larger payment.

    Check again on Monday.
  • Thanks for the reassurance Badger.

However sending bank has confirmed payment sent promptly. Have never had such a slow "faster" payment!
Patience not my best asset, but will try to exercise same until Monday.

I have accounts with Shawbrook and have always found them efficient. They did have some table topping rates recently so no doubt became very busy.
