Electoral roll question

So I have two questions.
Checked my credit file yesterday and its showing my previous addresses, but not current one, which I've been at since late July 2013. I've checked and I'm definately on it, although I think timing wise, I prob wasn't added until late Aug/early Sept. How long should it be before it shows up with Experian/Equifax?
Other question, in terms of helping or hindering my credit score. I understand it helps to be on the electoral roll. However, if I've had say 3-4 different addresses over the period of my credit file, i.e 6 years, does that hurt my credit or does it matter less as long as I'm always on the electoral roll somewhere?

It matters to be on the electoral roll where you currently live. I don't think being on the electoral roll at previous addresses makes any difference.
Moving around so much isn't great. Try to make sure you keep the same bank account at least.0 -

James thanks for this. I've just found my confirmation letter from the council and it stated that I would be added to the electoral roll from 1st Sept 2013. Should you guys have received it yet? as its my experian credit file that I checked yesterday?
Updates are still done during the year however.
Go onto your council website and read through ''electoral roll'' for their area.0 -
Being on the Electoral Roll is the way for the Financial Industry and Police Authorities to maintain vigilance over people's lives.
All this nonsense about being on the Roll for your credit rating is ridiculous.
It's simply a way for the persuement of debt and control of individuals.0 -

That's the whole point, does it benefit you or the Financial System?
If you have no debt or credit why should you be compulsory registered?
I ask again who does it benefit?
How much surveillance and control do you want in your life?
I suggest you research "National Hunter"
And no it's not a racehorse.0 -
Okay so when I went back into my Experian credit file last night it had updated, including now showing my current address in the Electoral roll. However, also logged into Equifax and while it has all my addresses under the electoral roll, that section shows are 'amber' suggesting fair. On looking at the notes it basically says I'm registered but my registration is very recent and credit grantors generally prefer at least 3 or 4 years of confirmed residency as this indicates stability. So I guess that answers my question, its not just about being registered, they want long to term at the address too.0

OK but thats not a huge % of people.

Well you'll have even less control because you can't vote.
Quite frankly I'm an honest working chap who tries his best and pays his bills (ok a bit late sometimes) and I actually don't care who knows that. (well except for that woman in Ecuador whose husband probably still thinks the child is his :rotfl:)0
