Registering property as executor

I have just had probate come through on my Mums estate and have checked on registering the property solely in my brothers name with a couple of solicitors, the average cost is around £300 plus fees etc, i have looked at filling in AP1 and AS1 myself but it looks like I need to get a solicitor involved to confirm my identity is this correct, any help or advice much appreciated

I don't think you need a solicitor just to confirm your identity, certainly not one charging £300. Google 'Commissioner for Oaths' in your area and give them a call.

I take it you are the executor and assenting (using the AS1) to your brother.


If so, ID is only required for your brother.


Pop over the water to the Birkenhead Land Registry with form ID1 and supporting documents and get it done at the LR office. You both will probably have to attend. The only fee payable will be based on the value of the property under scale 2 of the LR fees. This info is available from LR web site along with forms etc.
