How can I solve this one?

I had a call from a PPI company offering their services, as their records show that I am entitled to a refund. I told them that I had already heard from my banks, and was not entitled to anything. He insisted that I was from somewhere, but didn't know where from. I rang off, but now I wonder if I am from somewhere on maybe an old loan etc. is there anywhere I could find any old financial records that I could look up to remind me of any old loans etc? Maybe I am just wasting my time, but thought I would ask.

You must ask the question how this company would have access to your personal old financial recored. It is a PPI text in cold calling form I am afraid

as you have no such entitlement, how did they work that out?

No. Its a scam. I have had claims companies phone me and tell me I have an entitlement for money even after I tell them I am an IFA. These cold callers are mostly scammers who are paid to get people to sign up.

This wasn't worth your time for the period of the 'phone call, even less so now.
Forget all about it, the Claims company was just touting for business by playing on your greed.
