spoke to an advisor today at "Dial" and she told me, in her words, that they're making it "impossible" to get ESA at the moment unless your condition has gotten worse or unless you have a new medical condition on top of what you already have.
She said "If you can't work with your brain, they'll make you work with your hands and if you can't work with your hands, they'll make you work with your feet" ..
She also said since I possess a CPAP machine for my Sleep Aponea, according to the DWP, I have to wear it and if i don't, then it's my fault apparently, despite me being able to produce letters dating back ten years stating i can't tolerate it.
I have to ring back on Thursday to make an appointment to see someone to go through the forms to get the filled out in the best way possible, but that'll be that. It'll be no more than going through the motions really as i've resigned myself to the fact i'll be forced on to JSA in the coming months which terrifies the life out of me.
Thanks again for the replies.
No, they are not making it impossible to keep ESA at a review - if anything the 'success' rate of claims has gone up.
If you meet the criteria, you will be eligible, although it may mean another medical and possible appeal.
Treat the review like the previous claim - supply all the medical proof you can, give them all the information they require, and it may run smoothly. They don't tend to keep the previous claim details, so re-send any relevant information.
They only rarely allow delays in returning the form, so get any agreement (if they give it), in writing. They usually require that the form is returned and any delayed reports sent on afterwards.
Benefitsandwork site has step by step guides, and experienced advisors, but it costs about £20 per year to be a member, so it depends if it's worth it to you to join.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

Thankyou.
I think my problem is that the criteria I once met have now been changed so that I no longer qualify.
Still, I will certainly give it as much effort as I did the last time and see what happens.0
